it's reall...
it's really nice that while it's frickin freezing outside, my passionflowers still want to bloom (this is passiflora belotii).not much to report tonight. when i left work this evening carole was trying to teach 15 brownies (all about 8 years old) to knit. i was happy to leave.though it was pretty funny because at one point carole's daughter hailey called me over to introduce me to one of the other girls because apparently the girl was asking about me. then carole started in on the lesson (well, sort of, seeing as how they're chatty 8 year olds) so i didn't get to hear *what* she was asking about.

I like those flowers. It's amazing to me that they can survive this far north. They look very tropical to me.
they're mostly found in central america and northern south america, but there are some varieties in the southern united states. i'm not sure where this one is found (i could look it up but i'm being lazy), but i'm very happy that our local green house usually has quite a few passionflower plants (though the variety isn't usually too great--and some aren't labeled--i had to figure out what this one was on my own).
